Geopolitical Structure and History

The Serrakin freed the Hebridan human slaves from the Goa'uld thousands of years ago (6.18 "Forsaken"). After that time, the two races coexisted and intermingled peacefully, sharing their advanced technology and culture. Many intermarriages between the races resulted.

SG-1 first encountered citizens of Hebridan on P2X-005. The prison transport Seberus had crashed on the planet. Eventually SG-1 discovered the Hebridan humans who purported to be the crew were in actuality prisoners and the "alien creatures" were actually the Serrakin captain of the Seberus and the last survivor of his crew. Only the captain, Warrick survived, but he was grateful to SG-1 for helping him recapture the prisoners and fixing his ship so that he could return home.

Warrick invited SG-1 to Hebridan approximately a year later for a diplomatic visit. He hoped to borrow one of the naquadah generators that fixed the Seberus before to give him a needed boost to win the Loop of Kon Garat. The winner of the race would be awarded a lucrative shipping contract with the largest industry on Hebridan, "Tech Con Group." Samantha Carter offered her assistance to help Warrick win the race.

When SG-1 visited Hebridan, it was obviously a very capitalistic post-industrial society capable of space flight. The Loop race was televised to various planets in the system, and was very welcoming to various alien cultures for both viewing and betting in the various TechCon gaming ventures. Tech Con ran not only deep space exploration, shipping, and the television industry, but also restaurants, funeral planning, and every other type of industry or business imaginable.

SG-1 was welcomed by both the government diplomats and the president of Tech-Con, Miles Hagan, as the group with knowledge of the Stargate. The government was willing to give an ion drive to Stargate Command for study in return for receiving a Stargate.

When the Ori invaded the Milky Way Galaxy a few years later, Hebridan fell to their power (10.07 "Counterstrike"). According to Lt. Col. Carter, they could not reach any of their allies on the planet (presumably including Warrick and his brother Eamon) after its fall.
