Geopolitical Structure and History
The Unity lived on P3X-562, a world with bright skies and bright yellow sand. The Unity were sentient crystal light forms. The Goa'uld visited the world, and touched one of the crystals in curiosity. The interaction caused a feedback, injuring the Goa'uld. In retribution, the Goa'uld gathered all the Unity in one place where they were executed in an attempt at genocide.
Most of the crystals died, but some were merely injured. When SG-1 came and explored the planet, they found the remains of the crystals, but did not know they were sentient. O'Neill, separated from the others, touched a crystal that was still whole. The entity ended up injuring O'Neill, leaving him unconscious on the sand.
Also as a consequence of this action, the being could mimic other forms and know their language and their memories. This whole crystal was able to directly copy O'Neill. Only knowing humans as looking the same as Goa'uld, the entity was fearful. He wanted to heal Jack, and thought this would be accomplished by bringing Charlie to him.
The false O'Neill returned to Earth with the rest of SG-1, where he learned more about humans and Charlie's fate. The rest of SG-1 brought back some crystal pieces for study. Back at the SGC, A larger section of one entity partly mimicked the team members to communicate and revealed the Unity's past. Meanwhile, when O'Neill regained consciousness, he found himself alone on P3X-562. He redialed home and used his GDO. After the SGC realized he was the real Jack, SG-1 tracked down the crystal entity. Jack O'Neill escorted the being, now mimicking Charlie, back home.
