SciFi.com Official Summary

Lord Ba'al has brought the other Goa'uld system lords to the brink of surrender. But now he faces a threat even he cannot hope to survive—the Replicators. The machine race has been overpowering his ships throughout the galaxy.

Teal'c and Bra'tac, leading the Jaffa rebellion, are aboard a rebel mothership about to take on one of Amaterasu's motherships—one of many rebel attacks against the Goa'uld planned to occur simultaneously. Dr. Daniel Jackson and Lt. Col. Samantha Carter are aboard as observers.

A Ha'tak-class ship approaches. It is Amaterasu's mothership. It renders the rebel ship helpless in a matter of seconds. The rebel ship is boarded—not by Goa'uld, but by Replicators. Daniel is beamed away. Teal'c, Bra'tac and Carter ring to the planet below and escape through the stargate to Stargate Command, where Jacob/Selmak of the Tok'ra has already arrived and informed General Jack O'Neill of the situation: Many Goa'uld ships across the universe are now in Replicator hands. Furthermore, rebel Jaffa are re-pledging their allegiance to the Goa'uld by the thousands in the face of this new threat, the likes of which they have never encountered.

Teal'c and Bra'tac conceive a bold plan to regain the allegiance of the Jaffa: They will capture the sacred Temple of Dakara, the very symbol of the power the Goa'uld have over the Jaffa. If they can take it and hold it, the Jaffa will realize that the Goa'uld are false gods and rebel again. The temple is deep within Ba'al's territory. But with Ba'al so busy battling the Replicators across the galaxy, he has left only a minimal force guarding the planet: Now is the time to strike.

While Bra'tac and Teal'c organize the strike with the remaining rebel forces, Carter and Thor work to find a way to modify the disruptor weapon built by O'Neill with Ancient knowledge. The weapon was once effective, but Replicator Carter and, subsequently, her brethren, have since become immune to it. Carter believes that her twin has captured Daniel to probe his subconscious memories of when he was ascended, hoping to discover any extant Ancient weaponry that might pose a threat to them.

Carter's hunch is right. At that very moment, Replicator Carter probes Daniel's mind, disguised as Oma Desala.

Meanwhile, Ba'al appears in holographic form at Stargate Command. Unexpectedly, he asks for Jacob/Selmak's and O'Neill's help in defeating the Replicators. O'Neill refuses, hoping to keep Ba'al busy battling the Replicators and give Teal'c, Bra'tac and their forces the chance they need to conquer Dakara.

Thor and Carter successfully modify the disruptor beam and destroy a Replicator ship. But another appears and quickly adapts. Thor's ship is boarded. He warps back to Earth's orbit, transports Carter back to the SGC and then takes his ship as far away from Earth as possible before it is completely compromised.

Teal'c and Bra'tac succeed in taking Dakara. Now they must hold it. Anubis, who exists in ethereal form and has just inhabited a new human body, orders Ba'al to withdraw his ships fighting the Replicators and converge on Dakara.

Back on the Replicator ship, Daniel sees through Replicator Carter's disguise, but it is too late. She has learned what she needed to know: There is an Ancient weapon in the Temple of Dakara capable of destroying her and her brethren.

Ba'al once again appears to O'Neill and tells him some disturbing news: He, too, has learned of the Ancient weapon. Not only can it destroy the Replicators, but all life across the universe in an instant. He wants O'Neill's and Jacob/Selmak's help in destroying it and believes they will cooperate for one reason: There is one who will survive the apocalypse should the weapon be used, someone whose ethereal form makes him immune:

Anubis.
