Summary
Knox was the sheriff of Steveston, Oregon. He was investigating the alleged murder of Dr. Richard Flemming along with SG-1 (sans Colonel O'Neill). He didn't know that many people in his town, including himself, had been implanted with immature Goa'uld symbiotes and were building a space ship at night when they thought they were sleeping. All turned out well for Sheriff Knox and his townspeople, in the episode, 6.05 "Nightwalkers".
