Geopolitical and Structural History

Tollan (P3X-7763) was the home of the Tollan people, a highly advanced human race with extensive culture and government and had a peaceful nature. The Tollan enjoyed unlimited productive energy through their advanced technology. Although it is unclear whether or not their technological advancement caused it or not, according to the Tollan Narim, no birds or other animals had existed on Tollan for generations. When the Tollan first started space exploration, they discovered another world in their own solar system was inhabited, known as Sureeta.

When the Sureeta people were on a similar technological level with present day Earth, the Tollan made contact with it. The Tollan shared their advanced technology of unlimited productive energy. The Sureeta used the knowledge to make war and destroyed themselves in the span of one day.

The resulting explosion affected the orbit of Tollan enough to cause its orbit to change "point 3 tekanna", enough to begin a chain of events that created cataclysmic repercussions to the Tollan environment and forced the Tollan people to abandon their home for a new world. A group remained to destroy the Stargate to prevent anyone from trying to return to the soon to be uninhabitable world, and would later be picked up by a Tollan ship. However, the expedition was overcome by the volcanic ash and toxic fumes that began to permeate the area.

By happenstance, SG-1 arrived on a standard recon, and were shocked that since their initial probe came through, the place was covered with ash. They discovered the fallen Tollan, and were able to rescue ten of the dying people and bring them back home to the SGC.

The leader of the group, Omoc, wanted to be returned to Tollan immediately to complete their mission and avoid further contact with the more primitive people from Earth. The SGC continued to monitor conditions on the planet, but UAV recons showed the planet temperature on the ground was 1700 degrees Farenheit, and the air remained a toxic blend of pyroclastics, basalt, ash. A person could suffocate very quickly. A path of lava was flowing towards the Stargate, within a couple of days it would be buried, long before the atmosphere was fit for people.

The refugee Tollan people were able to leave the SGC through Daniel Jackson providing them the information to contact the Nox. The Nox arrived at the SGC and the Tollan went with them, eventually reuniting with the rest of their people on Tollana.
