Technology of the Ori

Summary

Even though the Ori themselves are Ascended Beings, they have developed powerful technology to advance their purposes in the corporeal plane.

Although the Priors of the Ori are advanced humans with great powers, they still use a piece of technology to demonstrate their power. It appears that the blue orb at the top of the staff is actuated by the Prior's mind and enhances his powers on a larger scale. The Priors have used their staffs to resurrect the dead (9.02 "Avalon Part 2", 9.05 "The Powers That Be"), to cure illness with a healing wave of energy (9.05 "The Powers That Be"), to interface with Ancient technology (9.03 "Origin Part 3"), to send out a large repelling energy burst (9.06 "Beachhead"), to cause earthquakes (9.08 "Babylon"), to transport consciousnesses to the Ori's home galaxy and convert a Jaffa into a Prior (9.10 "The Fourth Horseman Part 1"), to activate satellites (9.15 "Ethon"), to convert a Jaffa into a zombie with only death and destruction as motivators (9.18 "Arthur's Mantle"), and to activate the massive Ori warships (9.19 "Crusade Part 1").
The ring transporter is of Ancient design and the Ori's Priors use it in the Ancient's original home galaxy. The rings in this galaxy operate the same, but they are made of a material which is white, while the ones found in the Milky Way Galaxy are black. The ring transporter was used by a Prior of the Ori to transport Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran to the City of the Gods on the Plains of Celestis in the Ori's home galaxy (9.03 "Origin Part 3"), and they appear to be the primary form of transportation used by the Priors since every village in the Ori's home galaxy has a set (9.19 "Crusade Part 1").
The power needed to generate a force field to envelop an entire planet was first provided by some means through the Stargate on the victim planet. Then, with the energy obtained through the use of a naquadah-enhanced nuclear weapon, called a Mark IX "Gatebuster", and other energy weapons, the energy field grew and eventually caused the planet to collapse upon itself, leaving the singularity of a black hole in its place. The means of generating the initial force field through the Stargate was not revealed, but it was powerful enough to maintain an open wormhole for two days, something a ZPM cannot do, and create the initial version of the force field. (9.06 "Beachhead")
The largest Stargate seen was built by the Ori in the Milky Way Galaxy with individual segments (measuring approximately 10 meters long) which linked together. The segments were sent individually through a regular Stargate. The Super Stargate ("Supergate") was meant to be the receiving end of a wormhole created through a black hole, both of which had twins in the Ori's home galaxy. The Supergate measured approximately 400 meters across and was designed to permit spaceships through. It was destroyed by substituting a cargo ship as one of the segments and causing the energy to surge, ultimately making the ring unstable when the singularity was formed nearby. The Ori still managed to build another Supergate in another region of the galaxy and an invasion force of Ori warships successfully traveled through it. (9.06 "Beachhead", 9.20 "Camelot Part 2")
Initially meant to be a weapon of intimidation, this Ori-designed, human-built satellite emitted a laser-sharp energy beam which sliced easily through Prometheus's Asgard shields and quickly destroyed the ship. The satellite also had its own defense shields. The Prior who communicated the design of this satellite to the Rand Protectorate of the planet Tegalus originally brought the satellite online for it to be of any use, but because the satellite was controlled from the ground, it was useless when the link was severed. (9.15 "Ethon")
Four massive and powerful Ori warships entered the Milky Way Galaxy through a Supergate. Possessing advanced shields and weapons, these warships quickly decimated the ha'tak brought into the battle by the Free Jaffa, Tok'ra, and Lucian Alliance. Earth's Daedalus-Class ships fared a bit better with their Asgard shields, but their weapons were no match against these intimidating ships. Only the agile Asgard O'Neill-Class ship seemed to fare well in the battle, but only because of its speed and shields. (9.20 "Camelot Part 2")
