It all began with an e-mail on the Gategoers list from fan Tessa. A while back, she watched an episode of Stargate SG-1 being filmed on location in Vancouver. The scene Tessa saw was from the Season Eight episode "Affinity" and featured Teal’c doing his funky Jaffa version of Tai Chi. With Tessa's kind help we discovered that the talented cover-up artistes of Stargate Command had achieved the ultimate illusion. Move over, Siegfried and Roy! The residents of Colorado Springs only *think* they're nestled 6,039 feet above sea level next to Pikes Peak in the Rockies. Our T-Man is connected. When he moved off-base in "Affinity," his new apartment came with a sea-view. Lapping waves, beach, boats and everything...

Heavily influenced by interior design shows, Teal’c made his Mozambique-meets-Chulak themed home in this lovely mellow yellow apartment building. The apartment in Kensington Place was Teal’c’s home for only a short time because he kept rescuing the locals: on the street in front of his building he dealt with road-rage Jaffa-style by knocking out three aggressive thugs, while on the corner at the back of his home he caught a mugger running down the street by taking him down with a well-aimed vegetable destined for a neighbourly lasagne.

In the only slightly more mundane reality, this building is situated in English Bay in Vancouver. The beach there has been used before, notably in the episode “Chain Reaction” where it was the waterfront location at which Jack and Harry Maybourne shared a picnic table, and starred as Maybourne's tropical paradise hideaway, where he danced with the local lovelies to the sound of steel drums and Jack's gritted teeth.

Please browse through the gallery for more shots of Teal’c’s place.
