[Excerpts of several Season One episodes, 2.01 "Intervention" and 2.02 "Aftermath" are shown.]

EXT—SPACE

[Destiny moves slowly in space.]

INT—DESTINY OBSERVATION DECK

[Wray joins Young, Rush, Eli, and Park at the railing of the deck. They see an object straight ahead.]

WRAY
Do we know what it is?

ELI
Not yet.

YOUNG

(into radio)

Brody.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[Brody and Volker rush in and take positions at the consoles.]

BRODY

(into radio)

Colonel.

YOUNG

(over radio)

Ready weapons.

INT—OBSERVATION DECK

RUSH
I don't think that'll be necessary.

EXT—SPACE

[The object resolves into a space ship.]

INT—OBSERVATION DECK

WRAY
It's a ship.

ELI
It looks like Destiny. It's gotta be of Ancient design.

INT—CONTROL ROOM

BRODY

(into radio)

Colonel, this is Brody.

YOUNG

(over radio)

Go ahead.

BRODY

(into radio)

We're not slowing down.

INT—OBSERVATION DECK

BRODY

(over radio)

We're on a collision course.

EXT—SPACE

[Destiny approaches the other ship, which is very similar in design but smaller.]

INT—OBSERVATION DECK

YOUNG

(into radio)

Ready main weapon.

INT—CONTROL ROOM

[Brody and Volker activate the weapon.]

EXT—SPACE

[A large set of weapons lowers from the belly of the ship.]

INT—OBSERVATION DECK

ELI
We're going to hit it.

RUSH
No, no, we're not going to hit it. We're going to dock with it.

EXT—SPACE

[Destiny's engines fire in reverse, slowing it.]

INT—OBSERVATION DECK

[The crew looks on in amazement.]

EXT—SPACE

[The two ships slide together, Destiny above the smaller seed ship, until matching hatches are aligned. The seed ship extends a hatchway to Destiny.]

INT—OBSERVATION DECK

YOUNG
You got any more predictions?

RUSH
Yeah. I suspect that very shortly, you'll be assembling a team to send over there.

[Rush leaves.]

END TEASER

OPENING CREDITS

EXT—SPACE

[The joined ships float in space.]

INT—CONTROL ROOM

[Rush, Young, Eli, Volker, and Brody have assembled. Various displays are activated showing the two ships.]

YOUNG
How did you know we were going to dock?

RUSH
Call it a hunch?

[Everyone reacts with incredulous silence.]

RUSH
Given the second ship's similarity in design, our calculated approach, well, I thought it was rather obvious, really.

YOUNG

(looking at displays)

So, what's happening here?

RUSH
Destiny's exchanging data with the seed ship.

BRODY
One of many traveling well ahead of Destiny. Seeding planets with Stargates, gathering information. This one obviously experienced some sort of system failure, allowing us to catch up with it.

YOUNG
What kind of data?

RUSH
Difficult to say at the moment. It may take a while to translate.

YOUNG
Well, then you'd better get started.

RUSH
Well, there's plenty of time for that later. For now, this is a fantastic opportunity, and I want to explore—

YOUNG
No, I'm sure you do, but I need you here. I need to know what kind of information we're receiving.

[Rush looks surprised at being thwarted.]

YOUNG
No countdown clock.

VOLKER
Yeah, I figure Destiny is going to give us as long as it takes.

YOUNG
And how long is that?

ELI
Given the amount of data and the rate of transfer, I'd guess at least two hours.

YOUNG
Okay, Brody, Volker, you are on the away team. You have two hours, make it quick.

RUSH

(scoffing)

With all due respect to Brody and Volker—

YOUNG
They'll be fine. Call it a hunch.

[Rush nods angrily.]

INT—DESTINY CORRIDOR

[Wray is walking. Telford approaches from behind her.]

TELFORD
Camile?

[She turns to speak to him, clearly not happy to do so.]

WRAY
I thought you were being debriefed.

TELFORD
Homeworld Command can wait. What's going on with the seed ship?

WRAY
Some sort of data transfer's been initiated. In the meantime, Colonel Young is sending a team over to investigate.

[Angry, Telford turns away.]

WRAY

(calling after him)

David…

INT—CORRIDOR

[Greer, Scott, Brody, Volker, and a soldier make their way to the hatch joining the ships.]

INT—CONTROL ROOM

[Eli looks at kino footage while holding a laptop. Park is at a station.]

SCOTT

(over radio)

All right, Colonel, we are good to go.

YOUNG

(into radio)

Stand by.

[He nods to Rush, who pushes two buttons.]

INT—DESTINY HATCHWAY TO SEED SHIP

[A soldier is able to open the hatch. Greer and the others come through the hatch into the hatchway, Greer with his weapon raised. At the end of the hatchway is another hatch.]

SCOTT

(into radio)

Heading in…Okay, we are at the airlock.

ELI

(over radio)

Life support is active over there, so you have a go.

SCOTT

(into radio)

Right.

[He nods to Greer, who turns the door handle on the hatch and opens it.]

INT—SEED SHIP ENTRANCE

[Greer enters cautiously. Seeing nothing, he signals for the others to follow. Volker lets loose a kino. They follow it down the corridor.]

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[Rush watches the kino footage.]

YOUNG

(into radio)

That ship's older than Destiny and could be in pretty bad shape. Proceed with caution, Lieutenant.

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

SCOTT

(into radio)

Yes, sir.

[The ship is dark; they use flashlights to make their way.]

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[With Park standing beside him, Eli sees data start to pour in on his display.]

ELI
It's incredible.

[Rush and Young decline to react.]

ELI

(pointedly)

Okay, maybe not as incredible as checking out a seed ship. But still, pretty damned incredible. There's no telling what kind of information we're getting here. It could be anything, from ancient history to details of the Destiny's mission…

[Disturbed, Rush gets up to leave.]

YOUNG
Where are you going?

RUSH
Bathroom, is that all right?

INT—OBSERVATION DECK

[TJ and other crew are looking out the window at the seed ship. Chloe approaches.]

CHLOE
Hey, TJ, there you are.

TJ
Oh, god, I was supposed to meet you in the infirmary, wasn't I.

CHLOE
How about twenty minutes ago.

TJ
Sorry…

[She starts to head back inside.]

CHLOE
Are you okay?

TJ
Yeah.

[Chloe puts her hand on TJ's shoulder.]

CHLOE
You sure? After everything that's happened to you…

TJ

(firmly)

Let's not do this here, okay?

CHLOE
Okay, but you really should talk to someone, and I'm not saying that it has to be me, if there's someone else you'd feel more comfortable confiding in…

TJ
It's not that.

CHLOE
Then, why aren't you—

TJ
There's just nothing to talk about, Chloe.

[Chloe appears unconvinced.]

TJ
Look, I lost my baby. And now, maybe she's in a better place. And maybe it's for the best.

CHLOE

(stricken)

You can't mean that.

TJ
Let's go to the infirmary, and I'll take a look at your leg wound.

CHLOE
There is no leg wound. That's what I was coming by to tell you. It's almost completely healed.

TJ
How is that possible?

CHLOE
I don't know.

[TJ is concerned.]

INT—DESTINY BRIDGE

[Rush enters and takes a seat.]

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

[The kino leads the team through tight and winding passages, with many vertical pipes making the pathways narrow.]

BRODY
We could cover a lot more ground if we split up.

SCOTT
You heard the Colonel. Proceed with caution. We are not splitting up.

BRODY
Fine. Let's at least turn the kino on search mode.

SCOTT
Knock yourself out.

[Volker works the kino controls on his remote.]

INT—DESTINY BRIDGE

[Gloria has appeared and looks over Rush's shoulder.]

GLORIA
What a fascinating bit of information. Of course, you know what this means.

RUSH
We may have of a way of getting home.

GLORIA
But you're not going to tell them that, are you?

RUSH
Well, I'm sure they'll figure it out on their own.

GLORIA
And if they don't?

[Rush wipes his hand over his face as if conflicted.]

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[They come to a larger area with consoles similar to that of the Destiny control room.]

GREER
Well, well, well, what do we have here?

BRODY
The ship's control center, I'm guessing.

GREER
Huh, and I was going to go with rec room.

[Volker pushes a button, and displays start to light up dimly.]

SCOTT
Hey, what did the Colonel say?

VOLKER
He said "you've got two hours, make it fast."

[Scott smiles slightly.]

SCOTT

(into radio)

Colonel, this is Scott.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

YOUNG

(into radio)

Go ahead.

SCOTT

(over radio)

We've found what appears to be the ship's control center. Brody and Dr. Volker are bringing systems on line for study.

YOUNG

(into radio)

Keep me updated.

[Rush enters.]

YOUNG
Where the hell were you?

RUSH
Stopped by the mess.

YOUNG
I tried radioing you.

RUSH

(casually)

Yeah, I know.

[Rush takes a seat, ignoring Young. Telford enters from another direction.]

TELFORD
Everett, can I talk to you for a second?

YOUNG
Sure.

[The walk together away from the control room.]

INT—DESTINY CORRIDOR

TELFORD
You sent a team over?

YOUNG
Yeah.

TELFORD
Without bothering to run it by me?

YOUNG
The last time I checked, I was the commanding officer of this ship.

TELFORD
I'm not disputing that!

YOUNG
Meaning I don't have to run anything by you or anyone else for that matter.

TELFORD
Look, I don't have a problem with sending a team over, I'd just appreciate being kept in the loop. Let me help.

YOUNG
I don't need your help.

[Young starts to walk back toward the control room.]

TELFORD
Like hell you don't!

YOUNG
David.

TELFORD
Damn it, Everett.

[They stop just outside the control room.]

TELFORD
You've been going this alone since the incursion, and it's been taking a toll. When are you going to realize that this isn't just about you?

[Rush is overhearing the conversation now.]

TELFORD
You have a responsibility to the people on board this ship, and lately you haven't been up to the task. Now, either shape up or step back.

[He puts his hand on Young's shoulder.]

TELFORD
You're tired, I get it. Let me help.

YOUNG

(chuckling)

You're a persistent son of a bitch.

TELFORD
Hey, you saved my life.

YOUNG
I had to kill you to do it.

TELFORD
And I'm willing to do the same for you.

YOUNG

(acquiescing)

Okay, they found what looks to be the ship's control center, and they're bringing systems on line.

TELFORD
What's the game plan?

[They walk into the control room.]

YOUNG
The game plan is to get as much information as we can before our time runs out.

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[More systems come on line, as do lights all over the ship.]

INT—SEED SHIP

[The hatch to a spherical pod opens; alien fingers appear around the edge of it.]

INT—DESTINY PRISONER'S HOLD

[Young enters and faces the remaining Lucian Alliance members.]

GINN
Colonel, I hear we've docked with a seed ship.

YOUNG
That's right.

GINN
I'd like to offer my help. I have some understanding of Ancient technology.

YOUNG
No, thank you.

GINN
But I can be of some assistance—

YOUNG
I said no. I'm not letting you or your people anywhere near that ship.

[Ginn is stricken.]

YOUNG

(to Varro)

You wanted to see me?

VARRO
I want to know how long you plan on keeping us locked up.

YOUNG

(casually)

I didn't really have a plan. I just thought I'd play it by ear, see how things go.

VARRO
We've been cooperative with your Homeworld Command, providing them with information on the Alliance as requested.

YOUNG
You had no choice. It was either that or get left behind on some god-forsaken planet.

VARRO
We took down Dannic and gave you back control of this ship.

YOUNG
To save your own lives.

VARRO
Ours aren't the only ones at risk, and if you remember, I stepped in and prevented the execution of all military personnel aboard Destiny, including you.

YOUNG
I think we were better use to you alive, but for what it's worth, I thank you.

[Simeon slams his fist down in frustration.]

SIMEON
We can't spend the rest of our days here on this ship as prisoners.

YOUNG
You should have thought about that before you attacked us. The way I see it, it could have gone a hell of a lot worse for you.

VARRO
Colonel, just tell me: what do we have to do to earn our freedom?

YOUNG
Prove to me that you're not a threat.

VARRO
And how do we do that?

YOUNG
I don't think you can.

[Young turns to walk away.]

VARRO
I'm not your enemy anymore; neither are my people! I think you know that.

[Young leaves. Simeon approaches Varro from behind.]

SIMEON
Told you.

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[Greer looks at his watch and then at Scott; they are both concerned.]

SCOTT
Okay, so uh, making any progress?

BRODY
Sure.

SCOTT
All right, then, maybe Sgt. Greer and I will take a little look around.

BRODY
Knock yourselves out.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[Eli sees something on his display.]

ELI
Hey, am I reading this right?

RUSH
If you have to ask, my guess would be no.

ELI
Seriously, check out these power readings.

[Park comes over to his station.]

PARK
Oh my god! Dr. Rush, you'd better check this out.

INT—DESTINY HYDROPONICS BAY

[Wray waters some plants. Young enters.]

YOUNG
It was you, wasn't it? You're the one who told the prisoners about the seed ship?

WRAY
Any major developments aboard Destiny concern them as well. They had a right to know.

YOUNG
Oh, damn it, Camile, they're prisoners! They don't have any rights.

[She goes to check on other plants.]

WRAY
Oh, I can't believe what I'm hearing!

YOUNG
They attacked the ship. They threatened us.

WRAY
And now, we have to live with them.

YOUNG
No, we don't.

[She looks at him in surprise.]

WRAY
We already got rid of most of them. There's only a handful left. Homeworld Command needs the intel they're providing, and in exchange for that information, they made a deal.

YOUNG
That Homeworld Command doesn't have to live with, but we do.

WRAY
Then all the more reason we should be showing these people some respect. You know, if you would just take the time to get to know them, you'd realize that many of them didn't have a choice but to join the Alliance.

YOUNG
You know what, I don't care. And I'm going to be damned if I risk the health and welfare of people aboard this ship on marching orders from the other side of the universe.

WRAY

(angry, approaching him)

And what about the people back home? Are you willing to risk their lives instead, because that's what's going to happen if you renege on this deal.

[Young wrinkles his brow in question.]

WRAY
Homeworld Command has received confirmation that the Lucian Alliance is planning an attack on Earth, and it's quite possible that these prisoners have information that could help head off that attack.

YOUNG
Or, they could be lying.

WRAY
Yes, sure, they could be, but are you really willing to take that chance? Look, I understand these last few days have been hard on you—

YOUNG
Camile, do me a favor. Just, watch what you say to the prisoners.

[Young starts to go.]

WRAY
We're planning a service for Sgt. Riley later this week. I thought…maybe you'd want to say a few words.

YOUNG
Of course.

[Young leaves.]

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

[Greer and Scott explore the ship.]

SCOTT
So, come on. Chen? Ramirez? The red-headed civilian contractor.

GREER
Uh, Park.

SCOTT
Park?

GREER
Yeah, remember that hamstring injury I said I got doing squats?

SCOTT
Yeah.

GREER
It wasn't doing squats.

[Scott stops for a moment to consider this, then moves on.]

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[Young arrives.]

YOUNG
You wanted to see me?

ELI

(eagerly)

We checked, we re-checked, and we re-re-checked just to be sure—

RUSH
The seed ship has sizable energy reserves.

YOUNG
How sizable?

RUSH
With the output of both capacitors in play, enough to power the 'gate and get us home. In order for that to happen, I'd have to alter certain conduits to open up a transfer channel, but that's not something I can do from here.

YOUNG
Go.

[Rush hurries away. Eli and Park smile, while Young looks hopeful.]

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

[The kino makes its way around a corner, then suddenly shuts off.]

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[Eli sees the blank display.]

ELI
What was that?

PARK
What?

ELI
We just lost the kino feed.

INT—DESTINY TO SEED SHIP AIRLOCK

RUSH

(into radio)

Ready, Eli.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

RUSH

(over radio)

Eli?

ELI

(to Park)
Come here.
(into radio)

All right.

[Park comes to Eli's station, and he goes to the one with the airlock controls. He opens the airlock.]

INT—DESTINY TO SEED SHIP AIRLOCK

[A soldier opens the airlock for Rush, who goes through and meets Scott and Greer.]

SCOTT
Dr. Rush, perfect timing. You're going to want to see this.

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

BRODY
Okay, back in a flash.

[He starts to leave.]

VOLKER

(distractedly)
Uh huh.
(alarmed)

Wait, no, where are you going?

BRODY
It looks like there's a malfunctioning relay station one floor up. I'm going to see if I can fix it, bring up that dead console.

[Brody steps out of the control room and starts to climb a ladder upward. Volker keeps working. Something seems to be watching him.]

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

[Scott leads Greer and Rush.]

RUSH
I'll warn you, Lieutenant, I tend to find surprises particularly underwhelming.

SCOTT
Not this one you won't, trust me.

[They arrive at a catwalk of sorts. They walk onto it and are overlooking a bay full of Stargates, lined up on tracks as if ready to be deployed.]

SCOTT
Pretty darn cool, huh?

RUSH

(nodding)

Yes, of course. This is where the Stargates were manufactured before being transported to the various planets… Okay, is that it?

GREER

(shocked)

Yeah, that's it.

RUSH
Well, now we're done with this little diversion, could you escort me to the control room?

[Scott and Greer chuckle at each other, stunned at Rush's nonchalance.]

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[Working, Volker hears something behind him and assumes it's Brody.]

VOLKER
It didn't take you long, but there's still more that—

[He turns to see an alien staring at him. The alien is smaller than a human, bipedal, with big eyes and a large head, and long, bony fingers. Its limbs and skull look skeletal. It is wearing some sort of armored uniform. Volker assumes the alien is hostile and puts his arms up.]

VOLKER
I don't— I don't— Please.

[The alien collapses to the deck.]

VOLKER
What the hell?

INT—DESTINY PRISONER'S HOLD

[TJ treats Simeon's head lacerations.]

TJ
If you're not careful, that cut's going to open up again.

SIMEON

I can't help it. I like to play rough.
(grabbing her arm)

How about you?

[TJ grabs his wrist and twists it hard; Simeon gasps in pain. The marine guard steps forward to help.]

TJ

(to guard)
Hang on.
(to Simeon)

Yeah, I do.

[She twists his hand harder as he grunts.]

TJ
Do you think you could handle me?

SIMEON

(roughly)

No.

[TJ releases him.]

TJ
I didn't think so.

[She steps away from him. He looks chastened and perhaps ashamed.]

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

VOLKER

(over radio)

Lt. Scott, this is Volker.

SCOTT

(into radio)

Go ahead.

VOLKER

(over radio)
(uncertainly)

You might want to come back to the control room.

SCOTT

(into radio)

You find something interesting?

VOLKER

(over radio)

Well, yeah, actually something interesting found me.

[They hurry along.]

INT—DESTINY INFIRMARY

[Varro walks in, followed by a guard.]

TJ
Have a seat. I'd like to take a look at your wound.

[He sits on a gurney. His stitched-up wound is visible next to his vest.]

TJ
Looks like it's healing nicely.

VARRO

(smiling)

Too bad; I was hoping for a manly scar.

[They smile for a moment, then he turns serious. TJ starts to clean the stitches with a cotton swab.]

VARRO
I'm sorry. I'm sorry your child couldn't be saved.

[She keeps working on him.]

VARRO
It's difficult to lose someone you love, I know.

[TJ stops and just looks at him in cautious interest.]

VARRO
My wife Anthian, three years ago. She was on her way back from the market when she was caught in a rain storm. She ended up taking refuge in a shelter. It collapsed, killing her and six others.

TJ
I'm sorry.

VARRO
She never liked me being in the Alliance. She thought it was too dangerous. I risked my life time and again, survived missions that should have killed me, and yet, she dies doing something as mundane as getting caught in the rain.

TJ
You felt guilty.

VARRO
Guilty, angry, despondent. I was miserable until I came to an understanding.

TJ

(sadly)

And what was that?

VARRO
That life is loss.

YOUNG

(over radio)

TJ.

TJ

(into radio, after a moment to compose herself)

Sir?

YOUNG

(over radio)

Grab your med kit and meet me at the airlock. You're heading over to the seed ship.

TJ

(into radio)

Is anyone hurt?

YOUNG

(over radio)

Not exactly.

INT—DESTINY CORRIDOR

[Young and TJ rush down the corridor. TJ is wearing her tac vest and a backpack.]

YOUNG
According to Scott, the alien is alive but unresponsive.

TJ
How did he even get on the ship?

YOUNG
No idea.

TJ
Okay, I'll do my best.

YOUNG
You sure you don't want me to use the stones? Bring someone else in?

TJ
No, sir, I want to do this.

YOUNG
All right.

[They reach the Destiny side of the airlock. Telford is there.]

TELFORD
I'm going with.

YOUNG
Lieutenant already has an escort.

TELFORD

(smiling)

I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines. Put me in, coach.

YOUNG

Okay.
(into radio)

Eli.

[A soldier opens the airlock.]

YOUNG
Good luck. TJ.

TJ
I got it.

[She and Telford go in. Young motions for the airlock to be closed, then leaves.]

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[Telford and TJ arrive. Scott and Greer are keeping their weapons aimed at the alien.]

SCOTT
Hey.

TELFORD
You sure it's alive?

SCOTT
It's breathing.

GREER
Well, at least that's what we think it's doing.

[TJ kneels beside the unmoving alien and touches it on the torso. It opens its eyes. She gasps and leaps back from it.]

SCOTT
Lieutenant?

TJ

(getting up on her knees)

I'm fine, I'm fine.

[Everyone points their weapons at it, including TJ. The alien sits up and starts speaking its language. It appears to want to communicate, but no one understands it.]

TELFORD
A little help here, Rush?

RUSH
Me?

TELFORD
You're the only one with any experience communicating with aliens.

RUSH
Different aliens. However, I think a good first step might be to lower your weapons.

[Telford nods, and they do so. The alien stands up cautiously. Scott steps forward.]

SCOTT

(pointing to himself)

Scott. Scott. You? Understand? No?

[The alien sits back down.]

GREER
No.

SCOTT
Does anybody have any food? Anybody?

VOLKER
Yeah, no, I've got a piece of dried fruit that I was saving for later.

BRODY
Are you kidding? That stuff's horrible.

VOLKER
It tastes like ram-bui.

BRODY
It tastes like crap.

GREER
What's ram-bui?

VOLKER
It's sort of like a longan.

GREER
Longan?

SCOTT
Just-just give it here.

[Scott takes the fruit, kneels in front of the alien, and puts a piece in his own mouth.]

SCOTT
Good!

[He hands the other piece to the alien, who takes it and puts it in his mouth. He chews it for a moment then spits it out.]

BRODY
What did I say?

RUSH
You know, it may be wise to find out whether it came alone.

TELFORD

He's right, we should run a sweep.
(to Dunning and another solider)
You two, keep our guest company.
(to Scott and Greer)

Each of you take a corridor. Radio check in ten minutes.

[The soldiers leave. The alien sits submissively with its arms around its folded legs. TJ smiles at it.]

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

RUSH

(over radio)

Eli, this is Dr. Rush, come in.

ELI

(into radio)

Go ahead.

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

RUSH

(into radio)

I'm initiating the transfer. I need you to isolate the power and direct it towards the gate.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[Eli starts the transfer as Park looks on.]

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

[In separate corridors, Scott, Greer, and Telford search for more aliens. Telford climbs a ladder.]

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

ELI

(looking at displays)

It's working!

[Park rushes over.]

ELI

(into radio)

Power from both ships is being transferred directly to the 'gate!

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[Rush smiles.]

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

[Telford comes slowly to a junction. He hears movement. He waits, but it is Scott, and they scare each other.]

GREER

(over radio)

Colonel, Lieutenant.

TELFORD

(into radio)

Go ahead, Master Sergeant.

INT—SEED SHIP CHAMBER

GREER

(into radio)

Yeah, it seems that the alien is not alone. It's got friends, and plenty of them.

[Greer is standing in a large room full of pods that could house the aliens.]

EXT—SPACE

[The two ships float in space.]

WRAY

(over ship intercom)

Very shortly, we will be making an attempt to dial Earth.

INT—DESTINY QUARTERS

[People hear the announcement and immediately start packing.]

INT—DESTINY CORRIDOR

[Everyone starts moving toward the gate room with their belongings.]

WRAY

(over ship intercom)

If a successful connection is made, we will need to move quickly.

[The crew are smiling and laughing as they make their way.]

WRAY

(over ship intercom)

All crew-members are to proceed to the gate room immediately.

INT—DESTINY CORRIDOR

YOUNG

(into radio)

Come again?

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

TELFORD

(into radio)

Greer has discovered several more pods, all empty, suggesting there are more of these things on board.

YOUNG

(over radio)

Well, how many more?

TELFORD

(into radio)

About a dozen. Rush figures they were a research team who were dropped off to do a long-term study of the ship.

INT—DESTINY CORRIDOR

YOUNG

(into radio)

Well, let's get our people out of there before their ride comes back to pick them up.

TELFORD

(over radio)

Making our way to the control room.

YOUNG

(into radio)

I want Rush and the science team back on the Destiny now. Do you understand?

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

TJ

(into radio)

Yes, sir.

RUSH

(into radio)

I can't leave just yet.

INT—DESTINY CORRIDOR

YOUNG

(into radio)

What is it now, Rush?

RUSH

(over radio)

I should stay here in case there's any interruption to the power transfer.

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

RUSH

(into radio)

We may only have one shot at this.

YOUNG

(over radio)

Well, what's the situation with the alien?

RUSH

(into radio)

Docile, not a threat.

YOUNG

(over radio)

You can't know that for sure.

RUSH

(into radio)

Colonel, there's really no point in arguing about this. I have to stay here to make sure this works.

INT—DESTINY CORRIDOR

YOUNG

(into radio)

All right, fine. I'll send reinforcements.

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

RUSH

(into radio)

I would advise against that.

YOUNG

(over radio)

I'm sending them anyway.

RUSH

(into radio)

Okay, I'll head back once a stable wormhole has been established.

YOUNG

(over radio)

All right. Airman Dunning, you're with Rush. Everyone else fall back.

INT—DESTINY CORRIDOR

YOUNG

(to soldier)
Go!
(into radio)

Bring the alien.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

ELI

(into radio)

Power buffers are at optimum. We're good to go!

INT—DESTINY GATE ROOM

[The crew is all arriving, hopeful and smiling.]

BARNES
Commencing dialing sequence.

YOUNG
People, Homeworld Command is expecting us. Here we go.

[The 'gate starts to dial.]

YOUNG

(into radio)

Bring the prisoners.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

ELI

(to Park)
It's working!
(into radio)

Oh, the 'gate's dialing!

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

RUSH

(into radio)

Let me know when you secure the connection.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

ELI

(smiling, amazed)

We're going home!

INT—DESTINY GATE ROOM

[The gate stops dialing, the lights going out and power fading away.]

WRAY
What happened?

BARNES
I don't know.

YOUNG

(into radio)

Eli?

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

YOUNG

(over radio)

Eli!

ELI

(into radio)

The power transfer's been interrupted. Hang on.

INT—DESTINY GATE ROOM

[Everyone murmurs nervously.]

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

ELI

(over radio)

Rush. Rush, what's happening?

RUSH

(into radio)

I'm not sure, but it appears that tapping this ship's energy reserves seems more problematical than we thought.

[Dunning is hit with an energy weapon from behind, and falls to the deck as Rush looks on.]

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[The power falters.]

INT—DESTINY GATE ROOM

[The power falters here too.]

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

ELI
Uh-oh.

[He makes entries at a console.]

INT—DESTINY GATE ROOM

YOUNG

(into radio)

Eli, what the hell was that?

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

ELI

(into radio)

We've got a problem. The energy transfer's been reversed. Dr. Rush, did you hear that? The seed ship has begun drawing power away from Destiny.

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[Rush is now unconscious, and several aliens have entered the control room.]

ELI

(over radio)

Dr. Rush!

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

ELI

(into radio)

Colonel Young, we just lost contact with Rush.

INT—DESTINY GATE ROOM

YOUNG

(into radio)

Dunning. Dunning, are you there?

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

[Telford, Greer, and Scott are together.]

YOUNG

(over radio)

David, I need you to go to the control room and find out why Rush isn't responding.

TELFORD

(into radio)

Already on our way. TJ, Marsden, and the science team are headed back to Destiny with the alien.

YOUNG

(over radio)

Have you found any more?

TELFORD
Not yet…

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[Young arrives.]

YOUNG
Talk to me, Eli.

ELI
The seed ship is still drawing power away from Destiny. When the reserves are gone, there's no getting them back. Pretty soon, we won't even be able to make an FTL jump.

YOUNG
So, we can't stop it.

PARK
We're trying, but nothing's working.

YOUNG
What if we disconnect from the seed ship?

ELI
Yeah, that would server the power flow. Unfortunately, we have no idea how to do that.

YOUNG
We gotta learn. We gotta learn fast.

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

[TJ and the science team make their way back to Destiny. The alien makes a break for it. The marine fires at it but misses, and it gets away.]

TJ

(into radio)

Colonel, this is TJ. We lost the alien.

YOUNG

(over radio)

Copy that.

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[Telford, Greer, and Scott reach the room. Rush and Dunning are still unconscious.]

TELFORD
Check them.

GREER

(checking Rush)

He's still breathing.

YOUNG

(over radio)

David.

TELFORD

(into radio)

We found Rush and Dunning. They're unconscious.

[The conversation switches between the seed ship control room and the Destiny control room.]

YOUNG

(into radio)

It doesn't look like we're going to be able to stop the power transfer, so our only option is to sever the link between the two ships. We need you back here in order to disconnect.

TELFORD

(into radio)

Negative. This is our one shot at getting home. There's gotta be a way to reverse the transfer.

YOUNG

(into radio)

Eli's tried, and he's come up short. Listen to me, David, I want nothing more than to get everyone back home, but I'm not willing to risk anyone's life to do it.

TELFORD

(into radio)

Put Eli on.

[Young hands his radio to Eli.]

YOUNG

(to Eli)

Go on.

ELI

(into radio)

Colonel?

TELFORD

(into radio)

Is there a way to reverse the transfer from my end? Eli!

ELI

(into radio)

Theoretically? Yeah, yeah, it's possible.

TELFORD

(into radio)

Tell me what to do.

ELI

(into radio)

Uh, you need to find anything that resembles a schematic. Or an active display, possibly indicative of the power transfer.

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

TELFORD
Greer, Scott, get those two back to safety.

SCOTT
Sir, those aliens are probably responsible for what's happened. If they come back here, you—

TELFORD
Go. Go!

[Greer lifts Rush, and Scott lifts Dunning, and they drag them out.]

[The conversation switches between the seed ship control room and the Destiny control room.]

TELFORD

(into radio)

All right, I got it.

ELI

(into radio)

Okay, now, I'm going to walk you through this.

TELFORD

(into radio)

Forget walking, let's sprint. I've got a basic knowledge of Ancient systems.

ELI

(into radio)

Okay, you need to access the ship's distribution network.

[Telford dials it up on the console.]

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

YOUNG
How are we doing for time?

[Park brings up a display showing the power drain.]

PARK
Once we hit red, we're at the point of no return. We have less than fifteen minutes.

EXT—SPACE

INT—DESTINY TO SEED SHIP AIRLOCK

[TJ and the science team come through, while the reinforcements prepare to go into the seed ship. The airlock slams shut. Becker tries to open it.]

BECKER
We're locked out.

INT—SEED SHIP CORRIDOR

[Greer and Scott drag Rush and Dunning.]

GREER
Wake up!

[A hatch they just passed through slams shut.]

GREER
What the hell?

SCOTT
Forget it. Keep moving.

[They grunt with the effort.]

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

TELFORD

(into radio)

Eli, I'm done. What's next?

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

ELI

(into radio)

Now, you need to open a secondary conduit.

[Telford goes to another console.]

INT—DESTINY TO SEED SHIP AIRLOCK

[The soldiers try to open the hatch.]

BECKER
It's not budging.

[The hatch handle starts to spin from the other side. TJ and the others point their weapons at it. The hatch opens, revealing Scott and the others. They come through, Rush on his own and Scott assisting Dunning.]

SCOTT
It's not use; we are cut off from the control room. Fall back.

TJ
All right, you guys heard the man. Let's fall back.

[They step back from the hatch. Rush hurries away on his own.]

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

PARK
Less than six minutes.

YOUNG
Are we any closer to finding a way to disconnect from the seed ship?

PARK
We need Rush.

YOUNG

(gesturing for the radio)
Eli.
(into radio)

Lt. Scott, come in. We need Rush in the control room, now.

INT—DESTINY TO SEED SHIP AIRLOCK

SCOTT
Dr. Rush?

[He sees Rush is no longer with them.]

SCOTT

(into radio)

He is gone, sir.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

YOUNG

(into radio)

He is gone where?

INT—DESTINY TO SEED SHIP AIRLOCK

YOUNG

(over radio)

He is gone where?

SCOTT

(into radio)

I don't know!

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

YOUNG

(into radio)

Find him.

ELI

(to Young)

Look, there's no way we're going to figure out how to disconnect in time. It's all up to Col. Telford.

PARK
Less than four minutes.

YOUNG

(into radio)

David, how's it coming?

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[Telford rushes to different stations.]

TELFORD

(into radio)

Almost there. Okay, next.

[The conversation switches between the seed ship control room and the Destiny control room.]

ELI

(into radio)

Okay, now, all you have to do is override the power relay and just re-route it back into the channel you just created.

[Telford blinks in frustration, then scratches his head, but gets back to it.]

PARK
Three minutes.

TELFORD

(into radio, working the console)

Almost there.

[On both bridges, there is a severe vibration, lights faltering, and metal scraping noises.]

EXT—SPACE

[The two ships undock.]

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

TELFORD

(into radio)

What was that?

YOUNG

(over radio)

No idea.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

YOUNG
Eli.

ELI
We just disconnected from the seed ship.

YOUNG
Wait a minute, I thought you said—

ELI
I didn't.

PARK
It wasn't me.

YOUNG
Well then, how? How!?

INT—DESTINY BRIDGE

[Rush is there and sees the seed ship through the forward window. He sits back and looks at Gloria.]

RUSH
I had no choice.

GLORIA
In order to save the crew? Or did you do it to save your dream? Which was it, Nicholas?

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[Young paces slowly to a bench and sits down.]

YOUNG

(into radio)

David, we just disconnected from the seed ship.

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

YOUNG

(over radio)

And we're about to jump into FTL. I'm sorry.

[Telford smiles sadly and shakes his head.]

TELFORD

(into radio)

Can't blame me for trying, right?

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

YOUNG

(into radio, chuckling)

Yeah, yeah.

EXT—SPACE

[The two ships float very close to each other.]

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[Telford stands at a console.]

TELFORD

(into radio)

Take care of those people.

INT—DESTINY CONTROL ROOM

[Eli and Park are stunned in sadness.]

TELFORD

(over radio)

And Everett, take care of yourself.

[Young holds the radio as if to talk, but then lowers it. The FTL engines start to spin up.]

EXT—SPACE

[Destiny jumps into FTL, leaving the seed ship behind.]

INT—SEED SHIP CONTROL ROOM

[Telford steps slowly around the room, waiting for a reply.]

TELFORD

(into radio)

Everett… Destiny, are you there?

[There is only static. Telford hears sounds. He looks around to see all of the aliens approaching him slowly. He appears very concerned.]

EXT—SPACE

[Destiny moves through FTL.]

INT—DESTINY PRISONER'S HOLD

[Ginn and Varro look up as TJ enters, carrying blankets. Soldiers set down other supplies.]

TJ
I understand that you made saving me a priority, after I was shot. You didn't have to.

VARRO
Of course I did.

TJ
Anyways, thank you.

[She leaves. Varro appears conflicted. Simeon assesses him from the corner.]

[A music montage plays as the crew deals with the disappointment of not going home.]

INT—ELI'S QUARTERS

[Eli lies back on his bed.]

INT—STILL ROOM

[Brody fills a bottle with alcohol and gives it to Young, who leaves with it.]

INT—RILEY'S QUARTERS

[Wray and Greer sadly clear out Riley's quarters.]

INT—CHLOE'S QUARTERS

[Chloe writes in a journal, then sets it down and looks at the healed bullet wound on her thigh.]

INT—DESTINY BRIDGE

[Rush relaxes back into the bridge chair as if exhausted and relieved.]

FADE OUT
