Summary

Mark Gilmor, a former CIA analyst, was hired by President Henry Hayes to secretly evaluate Brig. Gen. Jack O'Neill before he was officially recognized as the SGC's commanding officer, in the episode, 8.04 "Zero Hour". His purpose at the SGC was said to be Jack's new administrative assistant sent by Gen. Hammond, but Hammond told Jack about Gilmor's true mission. Jack permitted Gilmor to perform his duties even though he knew that Gilmor was there to "spy" on him.
