Lotan represented the Gadmeer

Summary

The Enkarans were a people whom the SGC helped to relocate to a new planet which had special environmental conditions to accommodate their extreme sensitivity to UV radiation. Unfortunately, the new planet to which they were relocated had in the meantime been found by another civilization aimed at transforming it into an environment suited for their needs: needs which would mean the end of the Enkarans living on the planet.

History and Characteristics

Long ago, a Goa'uld transported people from the Enkaran homeworld in a spaceship. There was no stargate on that planet.

When the SGC met with the transplanted Enkarans, they were a dying people because they were extremely sensitive to the UV radiation of their planet. The first signs of their sensitivity to the harmful radiation was blindness. Hedrazar, one of the leaders of the Enkarans, had already become blind by the time SG-1 found them. If they couldn't be relocated, the Enkarans would all eventually die.

SG-1 and others from the SGC searched diligently to find a new planet for them to live, taking special care that the environmental conditions were safe for the peaceful and gentle people. Their new homeworld, designated as P5S-381 by the SGC, was somewhat colder than they were used to, but considering they had very little time to find a place, it was gratefully accepted by the Enkarans.
