Episode Information
Two bumbling scientists working on an off-world research project witness SG-1 captured in a Goa'uld raid and, defying orders, attempt to rescue them. Little do they know that SG-1 staged the capture in order to infiltrate the Goa'uld and make contact with a Tok'ra informant.

[Director Martin Wood moves hands as if prepping how a shot should be filmed.]
[Felger and Coombs work on control display.]
[Crew member gives thumbs up sign.]
[Felger and Coombs ring aboard the ha'tak.]
[Amanda Tapping fake glares at the camera.]
[O'Neill shrugs just before jumping through the Stargate.]

[Cast and crew are on location shoot in dunes.]
WOOD
Action!
FELGER
Guys, we're in the presence of greatness here. The best of the best! Here we are working along side them. Savor the moment, gentlemen. Savor the moment.
[The camera crane shifts over the location.]
MEYERS
Come on, Felger! We're studying an old piece of Goa'uld technology and they're...babysitting us!
INT--KINDLER'S OFFICE
KINDLER
These three nerdy scientists are being babysat by SG-1. They're studying some ruins that are relics.
TEAL'C
Are you nearing the completion of your research?
FELGER
Uh…well, it may be a few more days yet.
O'NEILL
What's your time frame there?
FELGER
Um, a day or so, you know, but then you guys can get right back to saving the world again…
[Felger quickly thumps O'Neill on the arm a couple of times. O'Neill looks at his arm then looks at Felger. Felger laughs.]
FELGER
For the seventh time.
TEAL'C
Eighth.
[Felger and O'Neill look at Teal'c.]
O'NEILL
What, you're counting?
[Teal'c raises an eyebrow and shrugs slightly.]
KINDLER
Something goes wrong, there's a battle, SG-1 gets captured.
LOCATION SET
[Tapping has a blue raincoat over her desert BDUs. She also wears her boonie hat and has a big smile on her face.]
TAPPING
I figure you oughta look cute while you're killing things.
WOOD
All right, let's try it.
(to camera)
This is going to be exciting.
[The crew shoots the firefight between SG-1 and the Jaffa. It is raining. Several sound effects are inserted.]
[The al'kesh aims its weapons and fires.]
[Wood points to a crew member who triggers a switch. Explosions start to happen. The scene intercuts between the actual shoot and the final episode cut.]
[A crew member claps.]
WOOD
That's beautiful.
[The three scientists are at the edge of the sand dune, watching SG-1 be escorted by Jaffa.]
KINDLER
(voiceover)
Now it's up to the nerds to save them.
KINDLER'S OFFICE
KINDLER
But, when they get up to the ship to save them...
FELGER
We're here to rescue you!
KINDLER
(voiceover)
O'Neill says...
O'NEILL
Felger! We're on a mission, you nit!
STUDIO SIX SET
WOOD
(in exaggerated tone)
Amanda?
TAPPING
(in exaggerated tone)
Yeah?
WOOD
What do you think of the other guys?
TAPPING
They're great! They're so funny.
[Felger and Coombs, dressed in Jaffa uniforms, enter the building.]
COOMBS
What about SG-1 then, huh? If they're the big heroes you say they are then they can just bust themselves out.
FELGER
Come on, Coombs! This op is up to us and you know it.
COOMBS
Op?
FELGER
Op, op, op, op! It's operation.
COOMBS
Well, just say operation then. Say operation like normal people.
FELGER
Keep your voice down.
[McKenna/Felger and Billingsly/Coombs immediately come back around the corner mumbling apologies, averting their eyes and acting like they just accidentally entered a women's bathroom. The crew laughs.]
[Wood interviews Billingsly.]
WOOD
What do you think of, uh, your experience on "Other Guys"?
BILLINGSLY
(smiling)
I'm having a blast.
WOOD
Action now.
[Coombs switches off the panel and runs over to the doorway.]
COOMBS
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You've been a wonderful audience, but now I really must be…
[The door opens to reveal a number of Jaffa on the other side. Coombs reaches over to the panel to close the door.]
JAFFA
You! Stop!
COOMBS
Staying. God.
STUDIO SIX SET, OUTSIDE CONTROL ROOM
[Anderson and Judge stand in front of the damaged prop door, each holding large objects to knock out the door.]
UNKNOWN PERSON
One more hit!
[Judge hits the prop door, but it only cracks further. Anderson strikes and knocks a chunk out of the door.]
[Later, Judge is laughing. Anderson stands nearby.]
WOOD
(off camera)
So, uh, Chris. Had a little trouble knocking the door in the last time?
[Judge continues to laugh.]
ANDERSON
(with mock anger)
Oh stop with the chat and just shoot the damn thing.
[Later, they are by the door again.]
UNKNOWN PERSON
Do it!
[Anderson and Judge continue to knock at the door with the objects. Pieces start to break off.]
[Inside the control room, Coombs trembles in fear.]
[Anderson/O'Neill and Judge/Teal'c knock a large hole in the door. Anderson/O'Neill sticks his head through the opening.]
O'NEILL
Let's go home!
[Coombs cries out in relief.]
INT—ON SET
WOOD
Amanda, what do you think of the script of "The Other Guys"?
TAPPING
It's funny.
FELGER
This is great! You know, sneaking around with you guys in a Goa'uld pyramid on some alien planet. The only thing missing is some Jaffa chasing us.
[Teal, who has been guarding the doorway into the room, enters and stands behind a pillar. Footsteps can be heard.]
TEAL'C
O'Neill.
FELGER
Okay, that's not my fault.
STUDIO FIVE SET, STARGATE GATE ROOM
KINDLER
(voiceover)
It's not enough he got to live the dream and save SG-1's asses.
[O'Neill presents Felger with medal.]
O'NEILL
You are true heroes.
[Felger shakes his hand.]
FELGER
Thank you, Colonel.
KINDLER'S OFFICE
KINDLER
He's gotta dream about Carter kissing him too.
STUDIO SET
TAPPING
(with silly voice)
I especially like the ending, when I get to smooch somebody, and he doesn't die.
[Carter reaches forward to kiss Felger.]
ANDERSON
(to camera)
This is private, do you mind?
WOOD
(to Tapping)
Because everybody that you've ever known...
TAPPING
Dies.
WOOD
And kissed...
TAPPING
Dies! I'm the black widow of Stargate!
GATE ROOM SET FILMING OF FINAL SCENE
[Tapping/Carter kisses McKenna/Felger, while the rest of the cast (in character) tries not to look on. McKenna/Felger moves his hands and arms awkwardly around Tapping/Carter's shoulders, back, and butt as if Felger is uncertain what to do.]
WOOD
And cut!
[Tapping and McKenna break away, both laughing uproariously.]
ON SET
[Tapping kisses Wood, who immediately starts to choke as if dying.]
TAPPING
Now you die!
(laughs and gives a thumbs up sign)
I still have the 'powah'!
