Vala Mal Doran was a thief and con artist when she met Daniel Jackson aboard Prometheus. A year later, she found Daniel at the SGC, and together they accidentally exposed the galaxy to the Ori. Vala was impregnated by the Ori and bore a daughter, Adria, whom she had to leave behind after Daniel rescued her. Vala was a probationary member of the SGC for a few months, offering her knowledge and experience as a former host to the Goa'uld Qetesh, an expert on the Lucian Alliance, and mother of Adria. She was given a position on SG-1 after she proved that she could be trusted and constructively contribute to team missions. Vala is married to Tomin, an Ori warrior currently serving Adria on one of the massive Ori warships.
