Mythology from various cultures is explored in ''Stargate SG-1'.

For example, the [[Goa'uld]] borrowed from Egyptian, Celtic, Greek, Chinese, Babylonian, and other religions to take on the guise of gods in order to subjugate humanity throughout the galaxy, humanity which they took from Earth starting 10,000 years ago. The [[Asgard]] also disguised themselves as Norse gods in order to protect humanity, especially from the Goa'uld. But, the race which predates both the Goa'uld and the Asgard is the [[Ancients]], who built the network of [[Stargate]]s and left behind their legacy inside of myths and legends, including [[Atlantis]], [[Avalon]], and the [[Sangreal|Holy Grail]].
