The Atlantis Expedition Team has encountered several alien races since their arrival in the Pegasus Galaxy. When the Ancients arrived in the galaxy, they assumed there was no life there, so they seeded the galaxy with human life. Unfortunately, they inadvertently created a powerful race that evolved as a direct result of their introduction of humanity to the galaxy, the Wraith, and it was this race that drove the Ancients out of the galaxy and back to Earth 10,000 years ago.
